Superintendent at North American Lighting in Salem, IL
Job Summary Plans and directs the operations through the plant supervisors, in all production areas in the manufacturing facility on off shifts, including safety, quality, productivity, continuous improvement, morale, communications, and all related plant personnel. Essential Duties & Responsibilities 1. Leads and directs department supervisors with respect to the volume, cost, quality of production, and in meeting both production schedules and delivery dates 2. Encourages supervisors and production workers to achieve maximum efficiency and productivity 3. Promotes the efficient utilization of equipment, facilities, personnel, and raw materials 4. Prepares and maintains production reports 5. Ensures proper 6S' and maintenance (including preventive maintenance) within the plant 6. Recommends process and procedural changes to improve overall plant profitability 7. Reviews and approves personnel rate changes for subordinates and their reports 8. Ensures compliance with company policies, procedures, and safety standards throughout the plant 9. Works with supervisors and production staff to ensure harmonious employee and labor relations 10. Prepares and maintains production reports 11. Assists in initiating and recommending purchase of capital equipment 12. Performs all other duties as assigned Responsibilites Requirements 13. Meets one of the following education and experience requirements:
a. Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Management, or a related discipline plus 8 years of manufacturing experience in a highly cosmetic quality environment; OR b. Associate's degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Management, or a related discipline plus 10 years of manufacturing experience in a highly cosmetic quality environment; OR c. High School or GED plus 12 years of manufacturing experience in a highly cosmetic quality environment 14. 3 to 5 years of experience in a supervisory role 15. Strong knowledge, skills, and abilities in the following areas:
a. Coaching and leadership skills b. Analytical and problem solving skills c. Organizational and planning skills d. Computer skills using standard business software (including MS Office programs) e. Written and verbal communications and presentation skills f. Interpersonal skills -- to confidently interact with individuals at all levels of authority
Salary Range:
$80K -- $100K
